In a previous post, I proclaimed I needed to shed some weight — on my bike and on my body. I’ve made some progress. After much research, I decided on the Salsa Cutthroat. My preference was to buy a frameset; however, there are none to be found till 2017. So, like last year, I bought the complete bike just to strip it and build it back up again. I won’t go into the build on this post, but I should be able to get the basic bike weight down to 22 lbs before beginning to outfit it for the Divide.
As for lowering my body weight, no progress. I had an implant removed 2 weeks ago, and it has but a dent in my training and my diet plans. It has finally healed, and I guess it’s time to begin my diet. Also, I had a checkup with my cardiologist and he told me I could stop taking Plavix. That’s great news for me because I was very concerned about the Plavix turning a small injury on the Divide into a life-threatening situation (like the kidney stones in 2013).
