In my last entry from April, I talked about needing to lose some weight: some from my bike and some from my body. I followed a strict protein diet for the last 2 months and I have lost 14 pounds. Likewise, I have made some progress on my bike. I have replaced last year’s Salsa Fargo with a new Salsa Cutthroat. After extensive modifications, my bike currently weighs in at 36 pounds — down at least 14 pounds from the 50+ pounds I rode last year.
I have about 6 weeks remaining until departing for Banff. I still have a lot to do, but mostly, I’ve got to keep my butt on the saddle every day possible.
