Today didn’t start out well – about 10 miles down the road, I realized I left my earbuds in my hotel room – doh! (Thanks to Claire for calling the hotel and arranging for them to be mailed home.)
I took the Boulder Alternate which basically had me riding on the shoulder of the Interstate most of the day – yawn! At least it wasn’t I-35.
After one Divide crossing, I rolled into Butte and straight to The Outdoorsman, a bike shop made famous in the movie “Ride the Divide,” and owned by Rob Leipheimer, brother of Levi who many of you have heard of from his Tour de France days.
Rob and his guys treated me like royalty and Zach when straight to work on my bike. BTW, Cutty’s running great – she got a new chain, a thorough drivetrain cleaning and he tightened my rear hub. They were all done by the time I checked in to the hotel attached to the bike shop!
Glad to have a little preventive maintenance – the next bike shop is 1,000 miles away in Steamboat Springs …
Rob showed me around some of Levi’s memorabilia:
