It was hot and windy today; easy to forget the chill in the air as I left Polaris with Lima, MT as my target.
Via the TD route, 104 miles to Lima, via my alternate, 74 miles. Which route I took would be decided based on how my saddlesores fared on 15 miles of Bannach Road gravel. No services on either – none, nada, zilch.
Knowing I could not tolerate the gravel route, I took my alternate route next to a nice lake while enjoying a nice tailwind.
Just past the lake, I turned southeast and gritted my teeth for 32 miles of suffering on the shoulder of I-15. It was most unpleasant as I endured a vicious crosswind while trying not to aggravate my sore posterior.
Bedded down in Lima where I can almost see the Idaho state line.
After much deliberation which I will spare you, my body has told me this is the end of the line for me. If you want to know more, read my next blog entry.
